Comissao Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Superior (CNAES) 

The Comissao Nacional de Acesso ao Ensino Superior (CNAES) / the National Commission for Access to Higher Education in Portugal uses the conversion tables given below for awarding points to grades achieved at AS & A Level and at IGCSE according to the Portuguese system.  

Grades expressed in alphabetical scales such as for AS & A Levels and IGCSE qualifications are converted using the equation provided for in Article 4 (b) of the Deliberation No. 974 / 2015, of May 29:  https://dre.tretas.org/dre/850914/deliberacao-974-2015-de-29-de-maio

The A * grade at A Level, corresponds to 200 points (the maximum number of points) according to the national classification for Portugal.

A classificação A* corresponde a 200 pontos, por via da alínea k) do 4º da Deliberação 974/2015

Three Cambridge International A Levels or the Cambridge AICE Diploma are considered equivalent to the Portuguese Diploma de Ensino Secundário (Diploma of Secondary Education). There are also subject-specific requirements, depending on the choice of degree programme.
